I paid for my trip so I got all the information. It tells you to bring so little clothing! I don't want to wear the same thing everyday or spend my nights washing my clothes!
It also listed the optional stuff - I am thinking of skiing in Austria and maybe skydiving in Switzerland.. not sure yet.

It is over 35 degrees in Melbourne now so it is going to be bad trying to get use to winter.

Are you taking a back pack or suitcase?

Hi Andrea,

I'm going to pay for the rest of my trip this arvo!!

I'm definitely going to try out skiing because I have never been to the snow before and can't wait!! I really want to do skydiving as well.

What sort of jacket did you buy? I've almost got everything I need for the trip now! I?ve been slowly buying stuff online.

I don't have a back pack so I will be taking a suit case.

My jacket is just a black coat that is just above my knees. It is like a wool blend coat - it is quite heavy but I am guessing I am going to need it. I have not bought a rain coat and not sure if I will yet.
I guess regardless of what we all bring, we are all going to look like multi-coloured marshmallows!

I think we will indeed look like marshmallows. Hehehe. Good description! I don't want to wear the same thing every day either, and knowing me I'll end up bringing waaaaay too much... hopefully not though... =/ what are the optionals? would you be able to write them out here? I don't know when I'll get my documents because I booked my tour through Flight Centre, so being able to look at them now would be handy! If you don't mind typing them. But if not that's fine!

We've been pushing 40 for the last two weeks or so, so it's been pretty horrible and definitely not wintery! Though today is only 28 or so I think. YAY RESPITE!

Also I have a question: what does one wear out at night when it's very very cold (such as during a European winter...)?? Do you have any idea? Also I am going to a 'dinner-dance' with my family friends for NYE, and so need to wear something nice there but have no idea what to take! =/

Hey Sez,

I looked through my paperwork and realised that I printed the optional stuff of the topdeck website: http://www.topdecktours.co.uk/content.asp?document_id=54060 scroll down to the bottom and the link at in the right hand corner.

I am guess that when you go out, you almost wear normal stuff but take the coat for outside. I have got a few thin wool long sleeve dresses that I will wear. I have heard that it is quite warm in places so I think as long as we wear a jacket to and from the venue, we will survive.

As for the dinner dance, is there a dress code? You could always wear a dress with black tights and heels?

Excellent, that's what I thought too. And re the the dinner dance, my aunt asked if I'd be bringing something nice to wear - so I guess it's nice enough! Grrrr. And awesome, will look at that link, thanks! Have either of you two got Facebook? Feel free to add me - sezcat@hotmail.com

Hey,
I have added you on Facebook. I can't imagine the dinner dance being too formal. You can always buy something in London.

YAY FACEBOOK. Haha.

I've had a look at the optionals (there don't really seem to be that many, hey?) and at the packing list that's on the pre-departure info thing, and they tell you to bring basically NOTHING! Haha! Crazy. Packing is going to be HORRIBLE! But I can always buy things there. I must remember this. Eek!

Also just looking at the documents again - I don't think we go to Lauterbrunnen do we? Just Lucerne? I don't know that skydiving is offered there?

Tell me about it - when I read what they recommend to pack I thought, so what will I wear on day 2!?
I am going to start pulling stuff out to pack soon as I am sure I will over pack and then have rethink my clothes.

There are not too many optional - I figure I will go on a gondola, maybe the cabaret show, and ski. But what I really want to do is see the main sites and SHOP!

Yeah we only go to Lucerne, I don't think I will ski drive as it costs quite a bit and I would prefer to spend more money on shopping in Paris and Rome. :-)

Hahaha, right?!? Because I'm going to Vanuatu before I go to Europe (we leave in 20 days!) I can't even do trial packs or anything, as my parents need their suitcases... ahh! Oh well. I'm feeling very motivated tonight to look at things and try to budget some more and things! I'm sure this motivation will be terribly short-lived.

Re optionals, I'm not sure which I'll do... perhaps the cabaret show though I'm not necessarily too keen. The river cruise would be cool I think. Gondola ride. Vatican tour, definitely. And perhaps the river cruise in Amsterdam. So basically I really don't know {Tongue Out} the only one I'm sure of is the Vatican tour. People have said to budget for all of them though, so I reckon I'll do that, and just end up with extra money!!
