London Airport Transfers

#1

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on the cheapest but also the most convenient way of getting to and from the airport in London? Having never really travelled before, me an my partner were thinking that it would be a good idea to get transfers so that we don’t have to worry or stress about using public transport. But doing a quick google search has shown that this is quite expensive and something that we can’t really afford. Public transport seems like the best way to go cost wise, but once again we don’t want the hassle of trying to find our way around a new country and a new transport system when we first get there!!

Any suggestions?

Hi Kristy

You can buy a day travel card (which you can use on tubes, trains and buses all day) and hop on the Piccadilly Line which takes you into central London. It is probably the most cost effective way of getting into London.

To help plan your journey check out http://www.tfl.gov.uk

Hope that helps!

Hi Kristy

The tube (underground) is really easy to get around

I found something that suits me.

Depending on what airport you get picked up from.
My trip from the airport to my hotel is an hour and a half - this is perfect because it drops me right at my hotel.

But it may not suit everyone

Public transport is DEFINITELY the easiest and cheapest way to go. All airports have rail connections AND bus connections - rail is usually more expensive but quicker than the buses. Don’t bother with transfers!
