Evening outfit

#1

I am just starting to pack for my 4 May European Getaway and was wondering how dressy they are getting at with the ‘smart outfit for nightlife’. I am presuming this is for things like the cabaret in Paris, casinos in Monaco, so they are meaning a bit more than a pretty top to wear with your jeans. For those of you who have been or about to go, would a smart black dress be on the mark? What are others taking?[br][br]Ally

I’d say with the outfit it doesnt have to be a ball gown (one extreme) and a bit more formal than jeans and a top so if I was you I’d go for the smart black dress [br][br]Id hope that helps[br][br]Shmu

for fellas it is not so much an issue. i say jeans for a guy going into a club is ok (well i hope so) as i am mini me compared to what i was in australia back in june last year[br][br]Live every day to the fullest as if it is your last

Very good question Ally! For the guys it never is so much of a problem as it is for us girls to take the right thing! I was wondering that myself … I guess “the little black dress” or something like it would be okay? Won’t quite be that for me … I’ll try the “small, cute not TOO fancy” one … the one that folds up to nothing in the suitcase and doesnt need the iron - don’t forget to think of that. And forget the hairdryer in case you were thinking of taking it … takes up too much room! Necessary shopping space! [br](Another girl thing apparently!) Enjoy your trip!

Does anyone know what the dress code is to get into the casino in Monte Carlo? I would expect it to be fairly formal?

Thanks for the tips. I think I am going to take the LBD, a couple of tops to wear clubbing with jeans and maybe some black pants (such a versatile fashion item!). On the hairdryer note, pop into a camping store and buy a travel one, they are tiny and fairly efficient.[br][br]Ally

Thank goodness someone brought up the hair-dryer thing! Im going to have to get one of those travel sized dryers too- Cant go 23 days with wet hair! 8-)[br][br]Thanks[br][br]Amanda

I wouldn?t mind some further info about the dress requirements for the casino and other night-time activities. Does anybody have any experience or recommendations for appropriate attire? I?m hesitant to pack anything more than decent jeans and a good long-sleeved button-up shirt as luggage space is at such a premium?. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance
